Inside the mill where Pillow & Percale linen is made

Our story

The standard came from running rooms, not from a boardroom.

Pillow & Percale began the way most good things in hospitality do: with a problem nobody upstream would fix.

Our founder, Lilian Marima, runs more than 20 furnished rentals across South Africa and Zimbabwe. For years the bedding was the same frustration on repeat. It looked right on arrival and gave up after twenty washes. Sheets thinned, towels went flat, and the crispness a guest notices was gone within a season.

So the search moved to the source. Lilian travelled to the mills, felt the difference between a number printed on a label and a weave you can actually hold, and chose the cotton, the weave and the weight herself. What came back was not a compromise. It was the linen a good hotel would be proud of, made to survive the one thing hotel linen must survive: constant use.

That is the whole idea behind Pillow & Percale. We make hospitality linen for the people who live with it hardest, and for the homes that want the same feeling every night.

Tested where it counts

Everything we sell is tested the way our guests test it: laundered hard, turned over fast, and slept on the same night. If a piece does not hold its quality across a real turnover, it does not join the range. That is a standard a mill cannot promise and a catalogue cannot fake. It comes from running the rooms.

For hospitality, and for home

Guesthouses, lodges and short-stay hosts buy from us because the linen behaves under pressure. Homes buy from us because they want the hotel feeling without the hotel markup. Same cotton, same weave, same standard, whether it dresses twenty rooms or one.

Stocked in Johannesburg and dispatched the same day on orders placed before 12:00. If you run rooms for a living, our Host and Trade pricing is built for you.
